All grades created self portraits for their fundraiser art this year. This took five classes, the first class was to draw themselves without instruction, second was use the art element of "line" and dry erase boards, mirrors and a mapping worksheet to learn how to draw a portrait, then students were to draw using a pencil. Once all drawings were done students were to color only the skin color with multi-cultural crayons (of which we talked about hereditary traits), then hair, hat and shirt with oil pastels. The eyes were to be colored with colored pencils and then we used watercolor for the background. Below is a few portraits created by students.
